Sponge filter for pup tank ?

Can anyone help ? All the tank will be is for 3-4 weeks while the settle eat and medicate as they will be imports the. Be moved into the main tank 8*4*2
 
Why not? A little weak on mech, but great on bio.
 
It doesn't matter what you use as long as you know it converts ammonia to nitrite and then nitrate. Just monitor with liquid test kits.
 
Ok great all the sponge filters mature and ready to use so no issues there in regards to the bacteria breakdown I just wanted to see if it was a ok way to run a pup tank or if anyone does use them. Many thanks
 
I don't think they will keep up with ammonia production. You'll need quite a few and a lot of flow.

Are they complimenting another filter system? Or is the only filtration sponges? How big is the tank? How many pups? How many sponges and how big?
