sponge filter for rio hyperflow?

What is the outside diameter of the intake you wish to attach it to?
I have a few brands of sponge filters but have never owned a Rio Hyperflow...
Also, just to mention... It's usually very simply to add a couple of vinyl tube pieces to get the diamters to line up without adding much lenth at all to the connection...

that's true . . . it's also very easy to buy a piece of standard filter sponge and cut it to fit your intake . . .

There is a benefit to using a tightly fitted prefilter such as a sponge filter when bypassing the prefilter is highly undesired (is that a word?)... Fry tanks are the first place this comes to mind...
