Today I picked up a hydor sponge filter(first sponge filter)for my fluval chi. It is rated for a 20g so its a little tall, almost as tall as the tank. Im assuming I can cut an inch or two off the lift tube so that the air bubbles aren't so bad or should I just get a better gang valve and fine tune the flow better?

Thanks

The taller the lift tube, the more water it will pump.

yes that will work (cutting it)

Thanks

I have the big hydor, the 125 for my 125, I love it! Takes up a lot of space tho, here's how I fine tuned mine, ran 2 outputs into T and the bubbler has a dial so I can adjust flow. I always run it full blast tho.

one other option I JUST THOUGHT OF ....if you dont qant to cut the tube ,go to hardware store and get some rubber tubing thats the proper size and use that....
