sponge filters

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That would do the trick. Another inexpensive place to get them is www.jehmco.com. They give discounts for quantity purchases IIRC.

Get the hydro sponges with a separate airstone.I have the azoo sponges and they plug up often, thinking of altering them with my new dremel:naughty:

I have noticed that the base of my azoo plugs once in a while, you have to clean them regularly. The ones that they have that hang the tank with suction cups never clog.

I do feel that they have awesome flow though (given enough air)

is there any good DIY sponge filters?

Picture this for a fry/Hospital tank, something for 10-20g........

Materials:
-Empty plastic cylinder fish food can
-Tubing
-Air pump
-Media of choice...Whatever fits....Carbon and floss or a simple sponge...

Drill holes on the bottom and one hole(for tube) on top...Wire the tubing to the bottom...Holding the tubing in place, fill the container with media of choice...Wire other end of tube through top and close top on container.....Hook up air pump....
