I bought some scouring pads from the doller store a while back i was wondering if i boild them would they be fish tank safe i wana use them in my filters

I dont think you would really even have to boil them. They can get a little dusty after sitting for a while so wash them off, but after that they should be fine. My magnum 350 uses basically the exact same thing as a scouring pad to go around so you should be fine. good luck 
hmmm well then I would say try and boil one and see how it turns out because it might disintegrate, but I honestly have no clue. If it boils fine then you are totally fine. I never thought about the whole chemical thing so you are probably right although if you bought them new then they shouldn't have chemicals unless you used them lol
