I don't keep them but I recently read an article that suggests a squirt of liquid fry food once a week.
I position mine in areas of high water movement and feed a micro food to them a few times per week such as Kent marines phytoplex or black powder. It is important thay have good current moving across them to deliver food and to carry away waste.
