Ok, so at feeding time tonight I noticed all 3 of my CL's have Ick. Long and short of it is this... my 75 has been cycled for about a month. All inhabitants (one 6" angel, 3 4"Oscars, and 3 6" CL's) have been in the tank for about 2 weeks. I've moved all current residents from 2 other tanks that I've been running. All were disease free until today. Ick is only visible on the CL's. I just cranked up the heat to hopefully remedy the situation. So my question is this... Why? Can Ick spontaneously appear due to I'm guessing the stress of the move to the new tank? Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions for me??
Thanks for any insight y'all have.

What fish is the newest and how long have you had it?

the 3 oscars. Had them for about 6 weeks now. The angel and Cl's have been with me for over 4 years now.

Seems like stress caused this especially w/ all the fish in a 75. The oscars vs CL.

I had a cl once and it got ick tank was overstocked as well

cycled by adding water (about 50%) from my existing tanks, some filter media from my other filters, and a few pinches of fish food.

If you can confirm all this while , the water condition is good , I'm very sure it's due to stress in the new environment..You have to take action immediately to eradicate the ick by either raising the water temp to 30-31 degree celsius or medication (Waterlife- Protozin), if not, the ick can spread.

I've similar problem five weeks ago after adding 5 new CLs in my tank, the new additions contracted ick within a week. I used Waterlife- Protozin with a 4 day course treatment. All the affected loaches were cleared of ick within a week. If you don't believe in medication, you can try raising the water temp with a heater, but that will take longer for your fish to recover.

I've read the combination of both heater and medication (Waterlife- Protozin) will have greater impact on the ick and the fish will recover quicker. However, at that time, I didn't have a heater...so I relied soly on medication.

Hope the above can help you to overcome your problem soon.

Do a good vac of the tank bottom and then raise the water temp to about 85*. I used aquarisol and my 180 was ick free in about 10 days. good luck to ya.
