Spots on acryllic

I know this is not the right area for this thread, but i had no idea where to stick it!

I have a 120 gal acryllic tank that i have recently seen white spots (looks like calcium spots and they are that hard) appearing towards the bottom area. I will post a picture when i get home, but does anyone have any idea what they are or how to get ride of them on acryllic? PS its freshwater, not salt.

did you try using a credit card ? that worked for me on stubborn algae on my sw acrylic
