spotted and florida gar together

well i had my current gar identified as a florida gar and the one im getting soon is from a guy that knows his gars and he said hes a spotted gar, but i will post a pic of him up when i get him just to confirm

Spotted Gars are extremely rare...So, if the one you're getting is indeed a Spotted Gar that will be AWESOME.

unless your friend caught the gar himself or has locality data from a previous source, the fish is most likely another Florida gar. they look extremely similar, and when raised in captivity the differences are even harder to diagnose. great fishes either way, and care is generally the same in captivity--
