Anyone ever seen/heard of a cetopsis-like catfish that has a pattern similar to a jaguar cat, base whitish tan with dark spots? I saw 3 at an lfs today, came in as purple dolphins (what the local distributors tend to call the standard cetopsis cats) but they were very differently marked. Any ideas as to what they could be?

No idea price on them your side of the pond, and a lot of suppliers arn't really bothered about getting sp names right, its all about the money.:D

Tatia perugiae (sometimes called Centromochlus perugiae) is a wonderful fish.
It's quite easy to keep and not impossible to breed, with few special demands. Just give them plenty of hideouts and some circulation. Mine likes frozen food such as blackworms. Flakes can be OK too - they seem to prefer to take food from the surface. They may even come out to feed at daytime, which is quite rare when it comes to driftwood cats.

It is a great fish. I also got a pair and they cost me 12 euro (18 $) each. They hide out during the day, but that might also be because there are some Apisto's in the tank too. As soon as the tank (and the room) is dark they are circling the upper levels of the water.

Just couldn't resist. T.perugiae male
