I know this is old news but it is focused mainly on the FOX newscast that night. This picture is not hard to find and you guys have all heard it. Last March, a boater in the keys was killed when she was hit by a 70 lb Stingray that was spooked by her boat. The next day on a guided trip we saw 2 MONSTER Eagle Rays fleeing from the boat. And a week later I went out Stingray fishing. The rod/ reel are STILL in Intensive care.;)
But that night, Fox ran a news story on the incedent. I watched it with my Mom, Sister, and Grandpa. I was shocked when the backround showed a close up of an Eagle Ray's face and said "Deadly Attack." The news women said ..."When a 6 foot Stingray jumped in the boat and attaced her." Im like WTH!!? That's a great way to start a Jaws scare and luckily Eagle rays (Spotted, not Southern) are protected. Did anyone else see that newscast? I was pretty pissed off, that's just not right and I thought about writing a complaint but being a 12 yr old fish lover in fishing heaven like Punta Gorda I never got around to it.
What do you guys think?

typical nonsense by the media to make a story out of something. They make it sound like the ray maliciously jumped onto the boat with the intention of (pause) MURDER!

I'm pretty sure they also determined that her death was not diretly linked to anything the ray did. And I know they determined there was no attack.

She either had a heart attack or she died from her injuries when she fell.

That's why I don't watch the news. Even the weather is wrong.

part of the report is that both the ray and the remora died. but he lady died from head trauma of hitting the gunwale.
