i recently got my first of what i think is a florida gar( sold under spotted gar). he is around 4 inch and im trying to grow him out a bit before i add him to my bigger tank with bigger tankmates. hes only going for bloodworms and guppies when i get them. i was thinking of getting earthworms to dangle in his face, are those okay for them?. he is a lazy bastard that floats around the top and doesnt seem to dive to chase his sinking food. he doesnt go for pellets, is there anything else that floats they go for?. any suggestions on different foods to feed him to grow him quick?

With right conditions First year close to a foot or foot and half then steady growth of 2 to 3 inch a year
