Spotted Gar Arrives!

He arrived today at around 8 inches. I was told 4 but i was upgraded .
This was by mail order.
Now my pictus are only around 3 inches at present.

Are they in danger?

I also hear that the temperature has to be low. There has to be a happy medium i think. At present i have it at 75f....

then you pictus will be fine for now
i have 9" gar with a 1 1/2" tinfoil barb that is too big for it to eat
if the pictus has some girth to it it will be fine

agreed...key point being that yours is a Florida gar, not a spotted gar. nice specimen, glad you were able to pick one up on the other side of the Atlantic!--
