Spotted Gar feeding

Hello...I have a spotted gar for about a month, 6-7 inch long and is only feeding on prawns. I've tried sardines and mussels but he doesn't eat them. I've also tried to hide 1-2 pellets inside the piece of the prawn but doesn't eat even that.

Would it be a problem to raise it only with prawns and if yes what can I do?

Are too oily could effect your water parameters.

Every once in awhile toss a couple in and hopefully the gar starts eating them.

You could add a productive like Vitachem on the prawns.
