Spotted gar info please

Hi,

I like to get as much as possible info on this gar.
So what is there growing rate ? how fast from 5' till 10'
There diet
tank size for 5' gars
tank mates
water tempature
And more info is welcome.

all i know is that spotted gars are super hard to come by (usually lfs or sellers will label florida gars as spotted) and i think the only person i know on mfk that has one is Solomon.

agreed. try a florida gar. more available. There is a sticky in this section that tells you all about them and tank sizes. Long term, please have at least a 180.

allright, but lfs here in holland tells me she can get them...
tank size will be 150G.
they have a few in the show aqua.

I have a florida long nose gar or spotted not sure I might have a pic on ,my profile they were about 15 inches when I got them a year ago and there almost 2 foot in my 200 gallon,,they grow like nuts ,and eat any thing shrimp ,gold fish, pellets,I have a fx5 filter on the tank to keep it clean,I have ome big tinfoil barbs in there and they eat 2 of them,if they keep growing I'll have to take all the fish out
