spotted gar mayhem

Hey all, first post on this great site. Just wanted to share something with you all. I picked up a spotted Gar, about 10 inches long, in my 150g with a couple oscars. I picked up a few loaches cause I have a nasty snail problem. After days of not eating (I tried everything, even chopsticks with raw shrimp right in front of his mouth, no luck. And even a few goldfish but they didn't make it to the bottom cause my oscars gobbled them up too quick). I get home and the gar has my yo yo loach in his fangs lol. I got a great picture of it so I thought I would share. By the way the loach got away and he is completely fine now after a heavy melafix treatment and the crazy gar went back to my LFS lol

Picture taken with my Galaxy S5, so it's not one of the amazing quality photos I see on here all the time lol
 
Well I guess he sealed his own fate. But that is a nice photo.
 
You made it easier for the gar. See the pattern on loaches, that's shouting for some nasty attention. Which the poor thing got. I kept a single Corry and saw my gar twice grabbing it and unable to swallow. Anything colorful bite size silver in color or riggly is in gar danger :)

I'm surprised he didn't go for the smaller rainbow shark lol
 
My danios use to play ringa ring a roses in circles right next to my poly. She tolerated for few months and one night snapped at one of the danios. Poor soul was gone in 45 seconds.
