im currently cycling my new 120 gallon tank to set up as a community tank. I'm researching all my different options as far as stocking go. A few fish came with the tank as part of the deal. Those fish include, an irridescent shark, huejta/rocket gars, silver dollars, african knife fish, and a plecco. I'm wanting to get either a few barracuda or a florida spotted gar. Although I know i can't keep that gar with most the fish i have now, it wouldnt be the end of the world if i had to part with these fish in order to get the tank i truely want. I'm just wondering as to what fish are compatible with the barracuda and spotted gar.

Im pretty sure gar won't attack hujeta gar, gars don't attack anything that looks like them. Barracuda might be possible, they have to be same size. Don't put it with ur silver dollar tho, gars tend to attack any fish that is silvery. My gator gar gets along well with knife fish and rocket gar even tho they're relatively small compared to my gar. As for pleco, don't put them together, plecos might suck on gar slime coat and can cause infection. Hope this helps, good luck!
ok, I already have plans to get rid of the silver dollars and the irridescent, and i have a few other tanks i can put the plecco in as i have heard of them causeing infections on gars. anything else anyone can think of? 4 RT Barracuda have been ordered btw, due to be shipped tuesday or wednesday

My gator killed one of my florida's before i isolated him... always kept well fed.
was told gars do not attack other gars, but seeing is believing, so yeah. much less a hujeta...
Gator gars are the most aggressive species of gar and it is not recomended to mix them with other gars aside from other gator gars.
