Hi all,
just wanted to share that the scientific journal "Genetics" currently features my photo of a spotted gar on the cover (as part of a recent genome sequencing study using SPGs). the specimen is one of the wild individuals that Richard and I collected over the course of the SPG work.
you can check it out here:

this is the first time a gar has been featured on the cover of a major scientific journal, so it's a nice step forward for all of us interested in lepisosteids!--
