Spotted gar with cichlids ?

i was wondering, i have a pair of jack dempsey abd 6 firemouth cichlids, a common pleco(i know it can suck on the gar but i would want to take that chance) and i was wondering if a spotted gar would work in here, i have a 6 foot long by 3 foot wide by 2 foot high tank

No gar would work. If u want out of the ordinar fish you could try silver Arowanas. But he would most likely end up eating all the cichlids after a while.

would a black ghost knife fish work you think ?

Personally have kept a BGK with less aggressive cichlids such as rams, honestly don't have experience keeping them with CA cichlids such as jack dempsey or firemouths.
