spotted pictus catfish

They reach about 5" long, mostly nocturnal and when they move they move quickly, despite their small size provide them with plenty of surface area. They also prefer to be in groups and if you want to maximize your viewing potential provide them with dim lighting and lots of options for cover. Not really much to them, they are fairly hardy and do well on a diet of sinking foods and frozen treats (shrimp, bloodworms etc.). They'll eat smaller fish so be careful if they're in a community.

Here is mine.

I want to see ur pictus too...

They are reallly fun fish to me.. I have 3 togther and they are always on the mood. I feed mine Omega Flakes, Omega Pellets, and Omega Veggie Rounds. They dont always eat the veggie round but those are for my Synodontis Schoutedeni anyway. I would provide them one big hiding place and several smaller place to hide with a big open area for them to swim to. They will patrol the area alot but always go back to the others.

Something i have noticed about them: When they get stressed, or if your water not right they will lose the color and usaully sit in one place so be one the look out for that sign.

In the third picture you can see the difference between the big spotted pictus and the smaller dotted pictus.

I just noticed the other thread about the Rapheal, a 6 inch Rapheal has to be like 3+ years old. They grow that slow! A ten inch rapheal is like 10 years old!! I wonder how long they have the Rapheal. If you dont mind me asking: How much did you pay for him?
