hi ive got a spotted pictus and he is about 3". i got him a few days ago (about a week). i have him in a 40 gallon tank. i am wondering if he will get bigger? i have alot of questions. whenever i turn on the light he goes under his rock structure... ive also never seen him eat... my bluegill eats pellets but ive never seen him eat any. i drop them infront of him then when i wake up theyre gone... any help would be great thanks. here are some pics http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...05342169520515

Can't access pics unless a member.

But they are nocturnal so feed it before yah go to bed, and it should grow at least another 3 inches if it is a pictus.

yeah pictus get about 5-6in and but it should be fine in your tank though a bluegill will need a larger tank and may be getting all the food, once they are more comfortable in the tank they will come out during the day as well but for now it should be fine with just feeding right before you turn the lights off, if it doesnt look emaciated or anything and is growing then it is getting food you just wont necessarily see it eat. you could also feed and turn off the lights for like 10-20min and then turn them back on and see if he has eaten, they will usually have a nice little round belly from gorging on the pellets
