Spotted Shovelnose Catfishes.

I had a TSN before but i returned it and obtained a refund coz he was missing an eye (and it was for the better since i didnt know it will grow huge). So i wanted a replacement for it so i bought another catfish which looked like what i saw from this link : http://aqualandpetsplus.com/Catfish,%20Shovelnose.htm

at the bottom which was written as a spotted shovelnose catfish and that it only reaches to 18"-20" which was really my aim. So I would just like to confirm if it really is a spotted shovelnose catfish or is it another species? I have a juvenile which looks exactly like the one in this picture

that looks like a RTCxTSN hybrid, in which case, will get huge.

it gets huuuge fast!

you should have paid extra for a fish with one eye imo... ha and yeah no difference between a TSN in the long run. TSN actually grow slower than these hybrids so go get ur one eyed friend back.

the hybrid grows really fast! mines already put on about 2 inches in 2 weeks! its crazy, i think its called hybrid vigour. not sure.
But i would give it back aswell, the one eyed fish was better

awww crap crap crap crap crap crap crap !!!!! what am i supposed to do with him lols.. at 2 inches he just ate 2 feeders which were half his size.. darn it !!

oh and i think because he only has one eye, he has problems eating and less active than what he is supposed to be lols

well if you can upgrade for him for sure keep him, if you're sure you cant house him try and send him back or sell him. mine eats like a pig! my first catfish i ever got and definitely not my last!
