Just picked up a Jaguar Cichlid earlier today, and was wondering if i paint a clear vase to add for a hiding spot, if it would be safe? All i have right now is spray paint, but would any paint work? If not, is there some special kind of paint i could use?

I DID NOT PAINT ANYTHING YET! I AM ASKING YOU GUYS FIRST AS TO AVOID ANY UNWATED CONSEQUENCES!

So, is there some sort of paint that would be safe to use for deco inside of the aquarium?

Krylon fusion. But it may not stick well to your vase depending on what it's made of, because its really only made for plastics.

PVC pipe or terra cotta pot. I know people have painted stuff to go in the tank, but I wouldn't trust it.

Krylon fusion. If it doesnt stick get some pvc pipe and use that insted. The krylon will stick to the pvc btw

If you were going to use pipe, is there any reason you would use PVC over ABS? ABS is already black (which in my opinion looks better) so you wouldn't have to paint. I'm pretty sure it's non-toxic...they make Legos out of it.
