Getting ready to plumb my sump to tank and I was thinking for the return should I go 3/4" all the way from the Mag 18 to spraybar or should I reduce the spraybar size to 1/2"?

Got done setting it all up this past Sunday, went 3/4" all the way. I first checked the flow with out the bar and that Mag 18 can really blast out some water. I have the spray bar with eighteen 3/16" holes going down and nine 3/16" holes shooting across the length of the tank. The 1/2" would of probably put a strain on the pump.
How many gph is your pump?

I'm using a 48in x 3/4in nipple with a cap is using 3/16in holes big
enough flow for your pump. Some one on another forum suggested
slot's in stead of holes for big pumps

The Mag 18 is 1800gph at 0 head. With my setup I guess it's around 1200gph. 3/16 works for me. Start small like 1/8" first and test it out. You can always go bigger if need be.
