if you live anywhere near a pond or marsh land you are probably familiar with spring peepers. a couple of months ago i caught some in a marshy field behind my house. I did some research online and found out that some people keep these frogs as pets so i wanted to have a go at keeping them. I started out with three and now I only have 1. if anybody has any experience with keeping these frogs i would love some help

Wow, I've never actually seen one. I would think you could keep them the same as the larger grey treefrog, which I've kept in the past. They're shy, so go with a humid, naturalistic (with lots of cover), smallish viv. What are you feeding it? Fruitflies are probably the easiest tiny prey to use.

Ive been feeding it pin head crickets. I have them in a 20 gallon tank with the usual stuff the coconut stuff, moss, a tree branch, and a small pond oh and a bunch of leaves, the peeping is incredibility loud and Ive noticed they only peep on the nights i remember to spray the tank, Is lighting necessary for these frogs:confused:

yes i would put lighting chang the water every day of like 3 times a week but seems you go every thing good

I have one, used to have more and will soon. My dad added some pinhead crickets to my tank and 2 peepers escaped and died. :( My last one is doing great though. I keep him in a 5 gallon paludarium and he does extremely well.
