The land of the pine
I have been stocking my 600 gallon pond a lot lately. Added around 1000 mosquito fish and 30 goldfish. As of now the stock is 1 largemouth bass, 1 brown bullhead, 1 bluegill, about 40 bluespotted sunfish, a mix of around 30 chubs, daces, and shiners, and various other species like crayfish and salamanders. It would be an North Carolina native pond but I need the goldfish for duckweed control. I have lily pads, elodea, and duckweed(which I hate) in there. My pond is my true prized possession. I'll try and post pics soon.

Could you send me a few of the blue spots, daces, and shiners before that LMB has his way with them, LMAO cant hardly wait for the pics, it sounds fantastic.

Lol, duckweed.. You went it until you have it! I really want some in my pond for removing nutrients but my fish eat it all.
Pics needed :)

Sorry about the late reply. I couldn't find this thread in my recent started threads. I will try and upload pics this weekend. I hate duckweed. It got in on accident and now I can't get rid of it. I don't want to use herbicide because I've got lots of plants in there I like.

In a 600g pond there will soon be very few fish and one fat bass, depending on how big the bass is of course.
Actually there is so much vegetation to hide in, everything is thriving. I have more blue spots and mosquito fish than I can handle. My bass seems to prefer creek chubs.

That's madness! I hope you can upload pics of that bad boy soon.
