Was just wondering if anyone has tried using sprinkler system pipe in place of regular pvc or are there reasons one would not want to use it?

the black pipe u buy in rolls? All I can say is its not potable. Its not really flexible either. You better off using flex pvc or just pvc. PVC is DIRT cheap.

Not the pipe in rolls just the half inch 90 deg. fittings and small threaded pipes. They are so much less bulky thought they might work better on smaller tanks. They are about thae same price as pvc plus i had a siphon minus 2 small adjustments put together in the isle no glue just needed a couple pieces of 1/2" hose which i have at home to conect the shutoff valve and then the wet/dry itself. Just trying to cut bulk.

Man I need an edit button bad. I had a overflow not just a siphon.

Do I get an edit button someday? With my spelling and proof reading it comes in real handy lol.

LOL I just copy/paste to word or outlook to check spelling.

To answer your question, yes, that dark gray threaded stuff is fine for fish. I use it coming off my threaded bulkheads on all my tanks.

Cool thanks.

I'm just waiting for the silicon on the check valve to harden. One problem is no drillpress, wobbled during drilling, check valve hole is very lose and I'm a bit concerned about trusting the silicon to hold with no force fit between the pipe and valve. Don't think it would be good if it fell out but will see how it feels in the morning.
