Hello All,

I need some advice on what I can do with my tank.. Currently I have 2 breeding pairs of Firemouths and 3 pairs of Convicts. One of my Firemouth Pairs has spawned that the female was doing an awesome job of watching the eggs, but it looks like the male is trying to eat the eggs, should I remove him? Also, I have a convict that is digging a nest but there is no female present, is this normal? Finally, I can see another nest that the other firemouths have dug out, they don't seem to be guarding it as much, could they be getting ready to spawn? All are currently housed in a 100 Gal..

This is the second time I have had cichlids breed, the first time was during an ich outbreak. = (

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

you have to take FMs out if you want fry to make it. male may be eating eggs under stress of tough fish like cons in the tank to deal with.

I see, thanks both of you for the insight! It's greatly appreciated. I think I will move the FM's to a tank all to themselves and see how things go.
