Square structural seel tank stand

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it should be more than enough..what are you going to put on top of that structure? Or are you putting the tank directly on top of it?

two words: Rust Proof
make sure it is not going to rust on you that is the only thing. I have seen metal stands that have been around for some time and are completely rusted out. But then again this it was in a basement with too many tanks too count and with that much moisture what wouldnt rust?

My thinking is the ammount of H20 to rust out a properly finished metal stand, would destroy the house.
Wish I could afford to build it in stainless...

On top will sit a birch plywood tank with a front plexi viewing panel... ;)

I have one similar to that (Stainless). I love it.

I would add "K" bracing to back panel, two legs meeting at center of top, back chord and extending to back, bottom end leg supports to add structural stability agaist sidesway. Unless u are running saltwater, carbon steel with two coats of a metal specific paint (krylon or rustoleum) should be fine. Sand blemishes over time and recoat if corrosion occurs over time.

:iagree: except I'd rather have it powdercoated...no corrosion, no anything.. wipe it down with the same rag you use to clean your guitar.. any color you like.
