i have been feeding my female flower ray squid as of late instead of her usual shrimp and i have noticed that the is holding on to the weight a little better. before when on shrimp she would eat a huge dinner and be thin again in the morning. with the squid however she gets her dinner and she still looks full-ish in the morning. i think its got a higher protein/water ratio. i did a little research on squid and i found out its got all 10 essential amino acids as well as a higher concentration of calcium and other minerals/vitamins than shrimp...

nothing beats the rest of the rays on pellets though.... one day shell eat them!!!!

O.o

i feel like someone explained the essential amino acids to you wrong, they are the amino acids OUR bodies cannot synthesize, these may be different in different organisms and i doubt their have been studies about this on fresh water rays

its still probably pretty nutritional, just thought that term should be used correctly, 3 years of high school biology taught me the vocab pretty good :P

may have to try squid one day, where do you guys get it from thats cheapest.

I get all my frozen seafood in Chinatown. Squid runs between 1.99-2.50 per lb
Buy it by the case and you save money.

Depends on how you serve it? Thawed in hot water? Defrosted in the fridge? Thrown in straight from the freezer? etc...
