I saw a video demonstrating this method, by squeeze the lower abdomen of the cichlid, if there is stream of liquid comes out the fish would be a male and if there is none then it is a female. The stream of liquid comes out is presumably the sperm of the fish. How accurate is this method?

Never heard of this performed on cichlids but have personally hand spawned fancy goldfish many times. The milt can only be expressed once breeding behavior has been observed. Giving a male goldfish the squeeze when he is not ready to breed results in nothing. Same thing with females, they have to actively be in breeding mode and physically ready to release eggs for it to happen.
Cichlids have more obvious ventral organs so this seems like an unnecessary and intrusive way of sexing, even if it does end up working.

Reminds me of that one video that used to be on youtube of "how to sex angelfish" where the guy just pulls them out of the tank and dissects them
