so today i had some free time and decided to clean up/buff a nice 180 gallon acrylic tank i bought awhile back..i buffed it out and made it look new again and filled it up.. i admire it for 10 mins then go watch tv and a half hour later go to check on it and it is a 1/4 full. i could not believe my eyes how did all that water get out so fast... it must of been a super soaker where it was leaking. Now im pretty bummed as i was excited to drop some fish in it and hope the guy i bought it from goes to hell..

Does anyone have any ideas on what i should do? seal it ? anyone in sacramento or nearby area have experience? i will pay...

? for you did you fill it before you bought it from the person so you could see if it held water?

nope lesson learned he said he had it filled as we talked about the deal.. it was out of town i had a friend pick it up.. i just had trust in another fish keeper but never again..

i did call him and ask him if he had any problems with it because the corner looked funny a little milky and what looked to be a small crack...i said i dont care i know i bought i cant be mad i just would like to know before i fill it... and he said no i never had any kind of problem it was filled before right before you got it....

it is my fault for having to much trust in a stranger.. but i just thought with in our hobby in this area people are a little more trustworthy

i was hoping someone on here would have some suggestions on what to do... id pay for someone to go give the guy a beat down in the bay haha its to far for me i have his address.... haha jp kind of

I'm not sure but I would think worst case you have the acrylic....the most expensive part. I would reseal it or find someone in your area that knows if and the best way to reuse the material. It would be great if the concrete could be cleaned off and basically rebuild the tank with the acrylic. There is someone one here that has post DIY acrylic builds from bottom up.....search that thread and maybe hit him up. I'm sure he would be helpful as he posted many detailed thread in DIY. I will see if I can find one of his post.

Try searching his threads or PM him. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?428002-Setting-up-my-acrylic-tank-i-built

Reseal it if you can. ?

Maybe it did hold water, and the crack happened during the move?
