i have the opportunity to pick up a srt tommorrow from a freind. im new to the hybrid part of the hobby and dont really know what to expect out this fish. ive been reading threads in this section that say theyre pretty aggressive fish but people also say that about plenty other fish that thrive in community settings. its around 5 1/2 inches max size right now. i was wondering if i could get it used to living with tankmates his size and a little bigger. tankmates are p-bass and mahseers ranging from 5 thru 7 inches. please give me any and all feedback

Hi Jey,

In my opinion, I wouldnt try it. All the SRTs Ive known have been extremely aggressive once they are comfortable in the tank. My 7" RT is very very territorial and bites anything that comes into his tank.
But, give it a try,it may work.

thanks for the reply Bulldog, i picked him up today and have him in a 150gl with 6 golden sharks (top water swimmers) now my question is what should i feed this guy. i was looking on aquabid and thinking about buying either chingmix, grand sumo any one have any food they really like and have seen good results? pls help

yeah thats what im feeding now, but i heard some of the high end FH foods really do work. is there any sinking pellet type from grand sumo, chingmix?

thanks again for the reply bulldog. im currently feeding hikari gold as a pellet also sinking carnivore and diff frzn foods. im gonna try NLS thera+A medium sinking as well ive read pretty good reports about it.

My SRT is an 11" teddy bear, Has 8 fish with him in a 125 ranging from 1"-6" and doesn't bother with any of them but I know thats a rare find.
