Stab Wound - Gills Showing

Any idea on what to do with this? Just found last night that my male has an open skin with his gills showing up. I would think that this is due to the female stabbing him while he tries to mate with her. Skin is open and you see see his gills pulsating while breathing. Not sure if the wound will heal back and cover it. any other keepers who experienced this?

Looks serious but its not, within 2 weeks the hole will close up completely, certainly within 3 weeks, no need to medicate, you will notice the ray acts perfectly normal throughout, don't lose any sleep he will be just fine.

Play Some romantic music and add some liquor to tank will help
But add some antiseptic medicine . in think this is the result of some spookiness. Not the result of unsuccessful mating attempt.

I have seen he's persistent to mate and the other time he had a stab wound on the lower disk. It did heal well. I hope this will do the same as im worried with the gills showing.

Male is acting normal but not attempting to mate. Appetite is the same as well. Ill observe him for now.

Classic stab wound from the female resisting the males advances, seen it numerous times, the hole is in the cartilage of the thorax, hasn't damaged any major organs, cartilage grows back at an alarming rate thankfully.

Progress as at 16/12. Skin is starting to cover the wound. Gills is still showing but not as big of a gap as the first day it happened. Still active and eating well.
