What do you know about this product?
What are your opinions?

Supposedly you can put some in your new tank to speed up the cycling process.
Is this true?
My LFS owner swears by it, but didnt have any in stock.
Have you used it?
I would like to know what you think.
Thank you.

I have and do use a similar product called 'cycle'. This has worked very well for me and in my personal experience cuts the tank cycling process by weeks. I would reccomend it.

Same here. Mine worked great. A little pricey though.

i will not recommend this or any other cycling product. i love seachem products but i used the suggested dose of stability on a new tank and it took 3 weeks to cycle anyway. it made no sense and didnt help using it. i have tried other bottles that make similar claims, and once again no luck. i've also heard some people say that the bottle they got was bad and had a negative effect on the tank. if you want to improve the bacteria levels and the tank is empty of livestock, just bump the temp up higher than normal. this will help to multiply the bacteria without buying a gimmick

Stability is a great product. So is Cycle. Stay away from the cheapy brand bacteria-in-a-bottle, though. Like Swede said, time is the only thing that truly cycles a tank, but I do think these products aid in the process.
Personally, I have had better luck with Stability & Cycle if I use the same brand of dechlorinator. For example, I use Prime dechlor if I'm using Stability bacteria & Cycle worked better using Aqua Plus dechlor. Once my tanks were established, I switched to "Biozyme", which is a dry bacteria culture. It works very well.

I was given a bottle for free at an opening of a lfs. Personally, I didn't see any amazing results or much change. I always prefer to add some "crap water" from some of my tanks and a seasoned filter and it cycles faster.

Thats what I have done with 2 of the 3 stocked tanks. Using excess water from changes but not from the bottom of the tank. I also switched the bio pad in one of the two filters with my 125. So hopefully it wont be as long.

I was also thinking or introducing some tiger barbs or something small to help it along.

I should just be patient and wait the 6-8 weeks but I guess willpower is a quality I'm low on when it comes to new fish...

Thank you all.

The set up is going to be discuss, probably 8, and a single silver aro until he outgrows the 120. I'll send pics in a month or so to update. :headbang2:popcorn:

I used stability to cycle a few of my tanks and it worked wonders. It wont cycle the tank overnight but it seldom takes more than a week in my experience. I really cannot say enough good things about it.
