stand designs?

i want to make a new stand for my 4ft tank, but so that i am ablt to fit a small breeding tank underneath.

can anyone help with designs, what materials to support weight, but allowing for room for underneath tank.

why dont you just buy a rod iron stand? you can put a tank under it...by the way welcome to MFK..

build it out if 2x4s two for each corner double top plate single bottom plate put a shelf in the bottom and wah lah you have a cheap tank stand

Heres my design of DIY 2x4 stand. 4ft tank on top 75gallon, and a 3ft on bottom 30gallon (although im switching it out for a 40br soon 36x18).

nice stand but its always better to support the whole bottom of the tank not just the corners

the small tank on the bottom is only supported underneath its corners the top tank is supported great its just alot of stress on glass to only besupported in the corners for smaller tanks like yours it will work but for larger tanks you needd full perimeter support

Ahhh, ok i see Its fine, if I wanted I could have slid another 2x4 in the middle but didnt feel it was needed.

here is the stand i just built for my new 7x3x2.5. its just the frame work, ive still got alot of work to do to it.
its built from 4x4`s.
