Picked up a nice 210 on CL which is basically a tall 180.... Same footprint. It's an in wall and has no stand so...

What kind of stand would you build if it was yours? Wood seems logical, but living here in Florida with all the block wall construction I wonder if a concrete block base might not be better.

Tank is going to live in the garage and is bottom drilled, so even though I want a lower stand I ll still have to clear the drains. Other than that, all options are on the table.

Thanks in advance!

Cinder blocks and 2x4 are easy. I'm preferential to plain old 2x4 stands though. Add in a few screws and presto!

Cost would probably be petty close too. Probably way easier to level the wood one, and that is a consideration.

In the tanks ideal spot, the floor has a pretty good drop going from side to side if you're looking at the tank. Blocks could be a nightmare to try to level.....

Very true, If you have a lot of leveling to do, wood would be a better choise. Someone on here posted a pretty cool level device he puts on his stands. Simple, but effective. Just need some threaded rod, washer and a couple nuts.

I would do wood, its easier to move if you ever need to move it to a different side of the garage or something, plus it looks better imo.

Was just discussing how much of a pain it would be to relevel blocks. Great point on moving it. Way easier with wood, plus I can set the tank exactly the height I want/need

If you want a real challenge...... popsicle sticks!

metal is the only way to go!

Uh....metal is good but...,

Spent about $50 in wood, $20 in wood screws and $30 for the tote(sump)

$106 with tax for a stand that blows away any store bought stand and a sump.

Took about 3 hours to build, but I could've done in in about 2 if I hadn't drilled pilot holes.
