Ive got this idea to make a big stand that will fill a whole wall. It will have a 75 gallon tank on top, shelves under it, and down some will be a 55 gallon on each side, with smaller shelves under those and doors in the middle. I will also have wooden canopys on all three tanks. I will post a pick when I get home of the drawing I made for it. Has any one done anything like this? Also can someone help me with the measurements?

In the 75 gallon I want 5 or 6 Angels, a big school of cardinals, and some american and new world cichlids. In my two 55 gallons I want African Cichlids some sort of chaser fish. Can anyone help me with the stocking of each tank?

Thanks in advance!

Weight wise 75g = 650ish lbs., (2) 55g = 1000ish lbs

Your over 3/4 of a ton in that one spot, so act accordingly.

Measurements depend on tank manufacture, but generally 55's are 48"x20.5"x13", 75g are 48"x21"x17".

Have you decided on filtration?

Stocking... If they're going to be large Angels, I'd keep them in a display style tank by themselves to propagate their finage. The other tanks would just be personal preferences/what's available to you.

No could I setup a filter system that works with all 3 tanks? Or just slap some HOB filters on them? Also I realize this is alot of weight, but with a enough 2x4s, and 4x4's, and plywood its possible right?

No problems building it with 2x4s and ply, just use plenty ;)

Personally I would make it as 3 seperate but matching units. The tanks would sit in the same positions and it would look similar. It makes the unit a lot easier to move about. Also if you move house in the futue it can be reconfigured to match a different room. The central unit with the larger tank will probably need a central support as well. I would run seperate filters on each tank jsut to keep things simpler. But design the cabinet to hold decent cannister filters even if you dont have them yet.

Apart from those thoughts I see no great problem.

Hiya,The drawing looks great.Similar to the sort of thing I want.I am mad on fish, turtles and axolotis and have some of each.Problem,my lounge is not very big so I want to build some sort of stand that will take preferably 4x4ft or 5ft tanks.Would it be safe to build the frame with 2x2 or 2x4 timber?Has anyone got any plans or ideas for this sort of thing please, please
