stand for 475 gal

Got my stand for my 475 gallon all fab'd up. Got a primer on it..just waiting to put a couple coats of paint...total cost: $0...got all the materials from work (scrap metal) and me and a coworker put it all together...2" angle all the way around with 1/4" flat bar diagonal supports. Gonna sheet the outside later..not sure what type of materials to use yet.

Looks great. But looks like you should add some supporters in the middle section, because a 400g+ is upwards of 1800lbs. With water gravel, fish etc.

Actually total weight of the tank, rock, and water when filled will be about 4,500lbs. This stand will hold well over 10,000lbs..no problem.

Your right, aprox. 8-10lbs per gallon of water+gravel+decor+misc.

Looks good Damien. I wish I had access to materials and a welder. I have never made a stand out of angle before but know it's very strong.
