Picture no worky. And you didn't write anything so we have no idea what your on about.

sorry, tried to upload a photo- didnt work. it was a basic plan for a rectangular stand. I want to make a stand for a 4x4x2 tank. ive tired a stand caculator but it didnt like the width of the stand i was asking it to give plans for. so, i thought i might make two rectangluar stands 4x2x2 and then bolt them together. any thoughts, or other ideas, links, threads that might be useful. i saw one on the net- btu the guy looked like he kinda made it up as he went along. thanks.

For a 4 x 4 x 2 which is about 240 gallons. 2x4's and 1/4" plywood facing should be strong enough.

thanks muni. so the width of the tank doent effect the build? most people here do rectangular tanks so i thought the engineering might need to be a bit different.

Humm. Your right for 4 x 4' footprint I would probaly make a center support.

So view from the top would look like this.

Is this a homemade tank? does it have bracing? With a well built tank, you could just go with the square build around the outside, but if it is questionable, a middle support would fix the problem without a doubt.

im probably going with a custom built tank( made by people who know what they are doing. it jsut freaks me out to make a stand with no middle supports

You could throw one in there to be safe.

thanks for the responses. well im sick of warped and miscut wood. so im gonna do cinder blocks with nine legs 3 on each end and three down the middle. i have carpet so i gues sim going to sandwich that with 3/4 inch ply. i'm not acually putting water in this tank. its going to be a communal multigenerational tank for leopard geckos, and maybe a few diurnal and climbing lizards.
