In a couple of weeks I am going to be starting my project that I have been wanting to do for a long time with the help of a friend. I found the plans on the website www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/55_diy_pt1.php. I am going to be altering the plans a little bit. Rather then a ten gallon tank in the middle I am going to be putting a 20 gallon tank . Rather then haveing the doors just on hinges I am going to have the doors slide into the stand after i open them. Thats all i am going to change from the plans that they had. My question is if I do the things I want to the stand will it hurt the integrity of the stand itself? Also does anyone have any reccomendations for me of an other ideas of what else I can do to the stand? One of the other things I was wondering about is the list of materials listed on the plans does anyone see anything that can be change to a different wood type (example: MDF can that be change to another tpe of wood and can the whiteboard be change to some other type of wood?) Any and all information wood be greatful. This is my first DIY stand for my 55 and 20 gallon tank.

Thanks I took a look at yours it looks great but i want more storage and with the stand design i have right now I can add more tanks later on down the road. We will see how mine turns out I am going to start building it today. Thanks for replying to my post thoe.
