Is it still OK to use 2x4s for the red spans as long as there are additional purples? So, add two more sets of purple across the front and back and another set halfway across the front-to-back spans? Presumably also add extra blue stringers?
Also, with a tank of this footprint (the tank is only going to be 20" tall), is there any need to include additional support anywhere in the "middle" or is the perimeter framing all that's necessary? The tank will be acrylic and obviously sitting on ply.
