I'm almost done with my plywood tank. The tank is 9.5' x 4' x 2.5' and is finished in oak. I want a show plywood tank.

I like the idea of using cinder blocks as a stand and then covering the cinder blocks with an oak front. The oak front would be able to be removed to get to the filter as needed, or even to disassemble the stand if the tank needed to be moved.

I was thinking magnets on the oak facing and cinder blocks. Just pull the facing off to gain access, and just place it back on when done.

Any thoughts?

Anyone do something similar?

Reasoning: Cinder blocks are relatively cheap, super strong, and this would allow for disassemble.

Thanks ahead for your time to read and reply.

So, you want a single sheet of oak plywood across the front? Will the sides of the stand be exposed?

I think having doors would be more convenient for access than having to remove the whole 9.5' piece of plywood every time. It could still be easily disassembled. If the sides of the stand are exposed, you could make a three-sided structure with two or more doors in front; it would support itself without needing to be attached to the stand.

Kinda like this, only less poorly made:
