Alright I have a stand for my 55g that sits inside it however the top part of the stand is just a little to long for me to be able to open the lid on the top i have to like lift it a little and push it to the other side and its a pain because its slippery and it falls in a little all the time lol. I was wondering if any of you smart people on here could tell me what this stand is made out of, and what I could use to trim the edges on the top with. Im going to try to upload some pics I hope it lets me.

looks like its made out of metal. i would just get rid of that sand and make a new one that doesn't restrict the lid movement.

could i just take like 11 5g buckets and siphon the water into them put the fish in one of them and switch the stands out real quick and just poor the water back in? how long can fish go with out any sort of filtration or air bubbles?

depends on the fish and the water conditions

heres my 55 and stand. built the stand in a just a few hours

I got 3 tiger bars, a pleco, 2 convicts, 2 JD's and a peacock eel I would build the stand and then empty out my tank they would only be with out filtration for hopefully 20 mins they should be alrights, or I can seperate them all too I didn't think about that
