Just built this 2 tank stand for qt and hospital tanks. There is no cross brace in the back, didn't think I would need one. Putting a 20gal on top and a 10 or 20 on the bottom. Inside legs/braces are 2x4's the rest is made of 1 1/2 x 3 1/2 poplar which is a hard wood so should hold up. Would like some feedback on if you think stand will be fine without a cross brace in back. I can put all my weight on it and it doesn't move a inchIMG_20190528_184154.jpgIMG_20190528_184140.jpgIMG_20190528_184100.jpgIMG_20190528_184033.jpg

Looks pretty strong to me and the finish looks good too.Post photos of it with the tanks in place.

Looks very nice and sturdy. Paint is sleek. Nice job! I would also like to see pics with the tanks in place.

You're only concern is really the 20gal on top. So for that, you are more than over built. If everything is squared, and looks like it is, you're more than good to go. You didn't mentioned, but I assumed you used screws and not nails.
Stands look professionally built. Well done!

Yes used screws and wood glue, also pocket holed everything that I could for added strenght

Back during my college years, I built a 20gal stand using only 4 pieces of MDF shelvings. I'm confident yours will hold more than 5X the weight of a 20gal.
