I had planned on the stand I am building to be 1/2" longer and wider than the tank itself. So that when the tank sat on it there'd be 1/4" all around. But after remeasuring the cuts I made today I cut 4 pieces 1/2" too short (stupid mistake, measure twice cut once, to bad I measured wrong twice). So now the width from front to back is the exact same width as the tank.

Should I be worried and recut to be safe? Or is there nothing to worry about? I need some reassurance or someone to tell me I have to fix it.

As long as its supporting the perimeter of the tank you'll be fine.

Sounds fine. If you want it symmetrical, cut 1/2" off the other side and it will be even all around.

yeah, my tank is sitting on the a stand that's just 1/8 longer than the tank dimensions im not worried.
