Stand size advice please!

Don't think that would be safe. I'd spend the extra money and get the stand built for your size tank. I would think that over hang would be stressful on the glass and stand.

Just get a piece of plywood that is 48''x18'' and you'll be good.

with acrylic the whole bottom must be supported or the bottom will warp, leading to possible leaks.

Even 3/4" plywood will warp over time. 48x18 footprint is a LOT of water, even if it's shallow. I wouldn't.

However, if you set the tank on the stand so the front is flush, you could built a 2x4 stud wall to go under the back overhang. Full length 2x4s top and bottom with a stud every 24" going vertical would be enough support. Just screw/clamp it to the back of the stand.

3/4'' or even a 1'' piece of ply wood that is 48''x18'' will support the 48''x18'' foot print. It will support 1'' on all 2 sides of the tank. And IMO, 1'' supported by 1'' plywood would work.
