I was just interested in the expected shipping cost of express, live animal shipping from across the U.S. I haven't really found any place where it says how much that would cost.

I am interested in a fish on aquabid and the shiiping costs is up to you ofcourse so i was just wondering. The fish is a dwarf pike cichlid(compressiceps).

I realize it's a little vague ,but if you could tell me what you paid that would be helpful.

i paid 24.75 from www.aquriumfish.net, and have payed 35.00 on ebay for live fish shipped over night

It all depends on size, how fast and also type it was shipped. i.e. air cargo is cheapest but you pick up at the airport. I normally paid about 45 for a box of fish via air cargo. 65 for next day fedex.

You need to be more specific.

what you need to do is assume how much the box + water + stuffing weighs lets assume it weighs 10 pounds with the fish and water heat pad stuffing everything. You go to what ever service you want and go to their website USPS is the cheapest btw. For around 10 pounds usps will charge like 30 next day ( dont do that 2 day bull the fish will have higher death rates especially in winter ).

Thankyou guys, guess that's a little out of my price range for now, I think that i will first talk to my lfs and see if they might be able to order it for me,which is usually free shipping because it's shipped with whatever other fish they ordered.

The post office has a tool on their website for you to get shipping estimates. I've only had one fish shipped to me- an indo dat. It was in a box 16 x 16 x 13, weighed about 7 pounds and cost me $36.

For me its usually ~35 for USPS and ~60-85 for FedEx or UPS depending on which overnight option is used.
