the contenders are:grinno:

  • Hikari Cichlid Gold Floating
  • Hikari Sinking Cichild Gold
  • Cobalt Aquatics Color Premium Fish Food

    Thx

While there are other quality foods, New Life Spectrum is always in the conversation. I have had wonderful results with it. Many also swear by Hikari Massivore, and I have also use Hikari product to great success. I cannot comment on Cobalt aquatics as I have never used and am not familiar with their product.

My suggestion: use New Life Spectrum as staple food and then mix in some other things to "round out the diet" (which may or may not be necessary).

I've always had great results from both NLS and hikari , my only complaint about NLS is that it makes your water stink as the garlic content is so big , although this is great for the fish I couldn't keep smelling the stench so now I feed strictly hikari and fresh frozen foods.
Same results either way IMO so if your tank is somewhere in your main living space (living , dinner , bedroom etc ) you might want to consider the smell from NLS and go hikari , just my thoughts as no ones mentioned it yet ;):D

Thx for the reply
Let me see if I can get my hands on new life spectrum or omega but I will go for both the hikari packs then and bout that cobalt thing I was not sure so I asked I won't go with any new experiments on newer brands
Thx
