hello Everyone,
Just starting up a 44g tank and very confused how much salt to use.
Reading these directions 2kg of AquaSalt mixes only 60litres of water,
Does this mean i will need almost 6kg of salt for this tank?
Being $15.20 for 2kg is there a cheap way instead of getting water out of the ocean? can rock salt or sea salt both bought in supermarkets can be used?
VERY DESPERATE for help :(
sorry to be a pain guys just need some help bad
Thanks heaps

p.s Any info would be AWESOMELY appreciated
Cheers

1 cup per 2 gallons is a general rule of thumb. but you're just trying to get it around 1.020ppms - - 1.025ppms. (or whatever the desired level is for your livestock) be carefull, add little by little untill you get there try not to go over 1.030ppms. Take caution when you're around 1.025 - - 1.030ppms. And always mix the saltwater in a bucket or Noninhabited tank. Mix until salt is fully saturated, heating the water will help but remember to let it cool before you add it to the tank.

You're also going to need a Refractometer or Hydrometer if you don't already have one. I highly suggest the more expensive Refractometer over hydrometers as they are way more acurate and easier to clean and keep maintained.
